Mothra Reacts to Godzilla: King of the Monsters

Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019)

Mothra makes her cinematic return in Godzilla: King of the Monsters, but she isn’t happy with the end result…

“Upon reflection, I regret ever having appeared in that movie.”

I thought Godzilla: King of the Monsters was a rather enjoyable film. Surely you agree that it corrected the course against the many, many failings of the previous film and the future of the franchise looks encouraging.

“My agent assured me that by going solo and separating myself from the twins that I could be bigger than Beyoncé. But it’s obvious now that I am being typecast.”

What do you mean? Unlike Rodan, you were heroic and triumphant as ever, and played a significant part in…

“I succumbed to natural causes! May I use this as a moment to remind my many, many legion of wonder fans to remember to get their cholesterol checked at least once a year.”

Yes, that’s sage advice, but can we get back to your issues with…

“…and my children soundly thrashed that ruffian too. I will tell you what it is. It is jealousy.”

What about your solo trilogy, Rebirth of Mothra, Rebirth of Mothra II and Rebirth of Mothra III? To my recollection, Godzilla had no involvement with the production  of any of those projects, and if I’m being generous, they were as entertaining as their titles were unique. Please forgive my sarcasm, but I can’t see how their lukewarm reception among the fanbase can be seen as the fault of anyone but the principals involved.
